The Best of Singapore, Counted Rather Than Guessed

Rankings built by counting how many independently published lists name each place — not by us deciding. Every source is cited on every page.

In short: "The Best" collects 230 Singapore rankings — 102 covering 1078 places to eat, 98 covering 1260 places to visit, 17 covering 218 places to stay, and 13 covering 137 routes to walk and ride. Nothing here is our opinion: each ranking counts how many independently published lists name a place, and every list counted is linked on the page.

The same method applied to campsites. These are not live yet, so they are listed here rather than linked — we would rather name the plan than ship an empty page. (Best camping)

What “best” means here

It means most-recommended, and that is a deliberately narrower claim than most pages with this title make. We have not eaten at these places or stayed in them. What we have done is read what the people who did write about them, taken only the names, and counted.

The count is the part that is ours — no single source has it — and it is the reason these pages exist rather than being one more opinion in a crowded field. Where the numbers are close, the honest answer is that the field is close, and the page says so instead of manufacturing a winner.

Why a property site publishes this

Because where you eat, walk and spend weekends is most of what living somewhere actually feels like. This site scores all ~12,800 HDB blocks in Singapore 0–100 across nine pillars — food access among them — from the same open government data these rankings are checked against. The towns ranked by food access page is the property-side answer to the same instinct that brought you here.

Questions

How are these rankings decided?

By counting. For each category we read a curated set of independently published Singapore lists, take only the venue names, and count how many of them name each place. A venue needs at least two separate publications before it appears at all. We have not visited these places, and we take no payment for placement.

Why count instead of just picking the best?

A single list tells you as much about the writer as about the field. Counting across many cancels out individual preference and surfaces the places different people, eating on different days, arrived at independently. It is a narrower claim than "the best" — and one we can actually show our working for.

Do you take payment to be listed?

No. There is no paid placement anywhere in these rankings, and no affiliate relationship with any venue. The order is arithmetic and you can check it against the sources linked on every page.

How often is this updated?

The rankings rebuild against fresh sources each month, so a venue that closes drops out rather than lingering. Each page states the date it was last counted.
