We read 4 independently published Singapore food lists for pizzerias, took only the venue names, and counted how many named each one. Venues on the same count are tied — shown with a verified NEA licence first, then alphabetically. We have not eaten at these places, we take no payment for placement, and we reproduce none of the sources’ writing. Every list we counted is linked at the foot of this page.

About pizzerias in Singapore
Singapore's pizza scene reorganised itself around Neapolitan dough about a decade ago and has been quietly diversifying since — Roman al taglio, contemporary high-hydration, and a small but real hawker-stall pizza trade selling handmade thin crust for under ten dollars. The high end is now good enough to place on regional rankings, which was not true fifteen years ago.
Humidity is the hidden variable. Dough behaves differently at 80% relative humidity, and the kitchens that do this well are managing fermentation against a climate the technique was never designed for. It is why the same recipe produces a different pizza here than in Naples, and why the good ones are genuinely skilled rather than merely equipped.
What to look for
- Judge the cornicione — the puffed rim. It should be airy and blistered, with dark spots rather than a uniform tan.
- A margherita first. Toppings cover a great deal; three ingredients cover nothing.
- A wood or gas oven running above 400°C cooks a Neapolitan in ninety seconds. If your pizza took twelve minutes, it is a different style and should be judged as one.
Why we count instead of ranking
Every food list is one person’s palate on one visit. That is not a flaw — it is what makes food writing worth reading — but it does mean a single list tells you more about the writer than about the field. Counting across 4 of them cancels out individual preference and leaves the venues that different people, eating on different days, arrived at independently.
It is a deliberately narrow claim. This page does not tell you which pizzeria is best; it tells you which ones Singapore’s food press keeps returning to, and exactly how many times. Where the count is close, the honest answer is that the field is close — and we would rather show you that than manufacture a ranking to hide it.
What are the best pizzerias in Singapore?
Across 4 independently published Singapore lists of the best pizzerias, Fortuna is named most often — on 4 of them. La Bottega Enoteca (3) and L’antica Pizzeria da Michele (3) follow.
How is this pizzerias ranking put together?
We read 4 independently published Singapore food lists, took only the venue names, and counted how many of them named each venue. 44 distinct venues were named in total; the 8 shown here appeared on at least 2. We do not taste, rank or accept payment for placement, and no source's writing is reproduced — every list we counted is linked below.
Are these pizzerias verified as real businesses?
Each venue is cross-checked against NEA's licensed-premises register, but hawker stalls are usually licensed under the operator's own name rather than the stall name, so few match automatically. We show a hygiene grade only where the match is confident, and nothing at all where it is not.
What is the difference between Neapolitan and Roman pizza?
Neapolitan is soft, fast-cooked at very high heat, with a puffed rim and a centre that folds. Roman comes in two forms — thin and cracker-crisp (tonda), or thick rectangular slabs baked in trays and sold by weight (al taglio). Both are represented in Singapore.
