The story

River Wonders, which opened in 2013 in Mandai, is a river-themed wildlife park inspired by the world's great rivers, from the Mississippi to the Mekong and the Amazon. Formerly known as River Safari, it is home to freshwater habitats, a giant panda exhibit and an Amazon-themed river-boat ride. It complements the neighbouring Singapore Zoo and Night Safari within the Mandai precinct.

What to see & do

  • 01The Giant Panda Forest with its resident giant pandas.
  • 02The Amazon Flooded Forest with its large freshwater displays.
  • 03The Amazon River Quest boat ride past riverside animals.
  • 04Habitats themed on the world's great rivers.
  • 05Manatees, giant catfish and other freshwater species.

Make the most of your visit

  • Book tickets online ahead and consider a combined Mandai pass.
  • Visit the pandas early before the crowds build.
  • Allow a couple of hours, more if you take the boat ride.
  • Bring water and sun protection for the outdoor sections.
  • Weekdays are quieter than weekends and holidays.

Getting there

Take the MRT to Khatib or Springleaf station, then the Mandai Khatib Shuttle or bus 138 to the Mandai wildlife parks; a taxi is quicker for the last leg.

River Wonders isn’t within an easy walk of an MRT station — most visitors arrive by bus, taxi or a dedicated shuttle. Plan the last leg accordingly.

Walk times are real pedestrian routing (OSRM) from the attraction to each station entrance, not straight-line estimates.
