★★★★★Neeru Das· 3 months ago“The ArtScience Museum, the largest Museum of Singapore, is located in Marina Bay in Singapore. It was opened in 2011 by Singapore's PM - Lee Hsien Loong. It features exhibitions that blend art, science, culture and technology. It also hosts touring exhibitions curated by other museums, in addition to a permanent exhibition created in conjunction with art collective team Lab. Unfortunately for us, our visit during 2023 did not reveal that in 2025, it was going for partnership with PGLang's when the museum was rebranded. The architecture now is said to be a form reminiscent of a lotus flower, featuring an exterior made of fibre-reinforced plastic on top of a steel lattice, looking like 'The Welcoming Hand of Singapore'. Art Science Museum is anchored by a round base in the middle, with ten extensions referred to as "fingers" in the shape of a flower. Each finger denotes a gallery space sporting skylights at its 'fingers - tips'. It has 21 gallery spaces covering 64,583 square feet. Rainwater is harvested and channelled down the centre of the building, flowing through its bowl-shaped roof into a reflecting pond at the lowest level of the building. The only permanent exhibition in the museum is 'Future World', which was created in collaboration with art collective team Lab. The museum also hosts progammes, along with exhibitions, including screenings at its Cinema and VR Gallery. Immediately after the entry, there is a relaxing area of a cafe, where one get a bite ir two. It was an interesting visit for the 6 of us, which took about a couple of hours of a warm morning.”

One of the highlights was a free film screening, which gave a great introduction to the museum’s unique mix of art, science, and technology. It was both informative and visually engaging. I also explored several open installations and events located in the basement level, which were accessible without an entry ticket. These areas still captured the creative and futuristic vibe the museum is known for. Overall, the ArtScience Museum in Marina Bay has a very welcoming and accessible atmosphere. If you’re visiting the Marina Bay area and looking for a cultural experience without planning ahead or buying tickets in advance, this is definitely a great stop to consider.”

From its early days as a fishing village to its rise as a global metropolis, you really get a sense of the hard work and vision that shaped Singapore into what it is today. What I especially appreciated was how values-driven the museum felt. During our visit, there was an activity where Singaporeans were encouraged to write heartfelt letters to expatriates, and there were also several exhibits showing what life was like for expats working in Singapore and the kinds of jobs they held. Older generations were also given space to share their stories with younger visitors, which added a meaningful intergenerational element to the experience. Everything felt centered on connection, empathy, and understanding, and that was the theme I loved most about the museum. The building itself is also beautiful, with plenty of photo spots throughout, so it’s easy to take nice pictures to share with friends. The only caveat is that the Singapore Odyssea exhibition is a little pricey, so we ended up visiting the free option, Once Upon a Tide, instead. Even so, it was still well worth seeing. A great stop if you’re looking for something educational, meaningful, and family-friendly.”

Catch the history of heritage preserved in the majestic building with exhibits of paintings, sculptures and archaeological finds. Ticketed entry to the museum. While you are there, do explore the Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time, which is free for local citizens and PRs. Pick up a wrist band at the entrance and be accompanied with your pet avatar alongside the interactive exhibition shows and videos. Museum visit is no longer dry but interestly fun and engaging for all. Highly recommended!”

The only downsides were the roller mouse on some interactive displays that didn’t work as smoothly as expected, causing a bit of frustration. Also, the food options at the café and the souvenir shop felt quite limited, more variety in local snacks or unique souvenirs would have been nice. It is located nearby, so you can easily explore both attractions together. You can see many different varieties of fishes and marine creatures up close, which is truly a great experience. Watching them in real life feels very calming and exciting at the same time. Photography is allowed in most areas, but flash photography is prohibited in some sections because certain fishes are very sensitive to strong light. One thing to note is that there are not many places to sit and rest inside. They do have a few benches here and there, but they may already be occupied when it gets crowded. Since you need to walk through the entire aquarium, it can feel a little tiring after some time. However, the beautiful underwater views and marine life make the experience completely worth it. The washrooms inside were also very neat, clean, and well maintained, which made the visit more comfortable for families and tourists. There are also souvenir shops inside where you can buy cute gifts and accessories. The prices may feel a bit expensive, but many items are really unique and worth buying. I personally loved the collection and bought a bracelet as a memory from the visit. Overall, it’s a peaceful and enjoyable attraction for both children and adults visiting Sentosa.”
