I also saw a lot of monitor lizards, wild chickens, and even robotic grass cutters maintaining the garden—which was honestly so cute to watch. There are dining spots nearby as well, so it’s easy to spend hours there just walking around and enjoying the atmosphere. What I also appreciated was how convenient it is for tourists. Both entrances are connected to train and bus stations, making the place very accessible. Being there felt like a slowdown from normal city life. I even heard that picnics aren’t really a Singaporean thing, which surprised me because the place is perfect for it. I genuinely hope locals get to enjoy places like this as much as tourists do.”

Swan Lake and Symphony Lake are lovely spots to unwind and take photos. The National Orchid Garden is the highlight. The orchid collection is stunning and worth the ticket. The Rainforest Trail was closed during my visit in the first week of February 2026, which was a bit disappointing. Main garden entry is free; only the Orchid Garden requires a ticket. Cafés are available inside, and it’s best to visit in the morning or evening to avoid the heat. Highly recommended for a calm nature break in Singapore.”

Everyone made us feel very special, small things like remembering your name and where we had preferred to sit the last time you were in the bar. Just walking around the gardens is a delight. We had seen quite a few videos and images of the hotel before we arrived but the reality was even better. The gardens are beautiful and seem to be maintained to the highest standard. On arrival we were greeted by the iconic doorman and then by a manager who led us to the check-in area. Once we had checked-in we were led to our room where the manager ran through all the room's features. Our butler also introduced himself and explained how the butler service worked. A bit later he also brought us some complimentary chocolates and an accompanying Singapore Sling. The Courtyard restaurant food was very nice but breakfast at the pool bar was our favourite. We went every morning just after it had opened and we usually had the pool to ourselves. The writers bar staff were very friendly. Even the very busy long bar staff took time to speak to us. In fact all the staff made us feel very special.”

From its early days as a fishing village to its rise as a global metropolis, you really get a sense of the hard work and vision that shaped Singapore into what it is today. What I especially appreciated was how values-driven the museum felt. During our visit, there was an activity where Singaporeans were encouraged to write heartfelt letters to expatriates, and there were also several exhibits showing what life was like for expats working in Singapore and the kinds of jobs they held. Older generations were also given space to share their stories with younger visitors, which added a meaningful intergenerational element to the experience. Everything felt centered on connection, empathy, and understanding, and that was the theme I loved most about the museum. The building itself is also beautiful, with plenty of photo spots throughout, so it’s easy to take nice pictures to share with friends. The only caveat is that the Singapore Odyssea exhibition is a little pricey, so we ended up visiting the free option, Once Upon a Tide, instead. Even so, it was still well worth seeing. A great stop if you’re looking for something educational, meaningful, and family-friendly.”

Catch the history of heritage preserved in the majestic building with exhibits of paintings, sculptures and archaeological finds. Ticketed entry to the museum. While you are there, do explore the Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time, which is free for local citizens and PRs. Pick up a wrist band at the entrance and be accompanied with your pet avatar alongside the interactive exhibition shows and videos. Museum visit is no longer dry but interestly fun and engaging for all. Highly recommended!”

Definitely a great spot for families and tourists who want more than just looking at old artifacts. The only downsides were the roller mouse on some interactive displays that didn’t work as smoothly as expected, causing a bit of frustration. Also, the food options at the café and the souvenir shop felt quite limited, more variety in local snacks or unique souvenirs would have been nice. Overall though, it’s still a top-notch museum experience and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Singapore.”

It's a collection of spots really, rather than a single destination, with lifestyle dining, museums, educational spice gardens, wedding photo destinations, or just a plain picnic spot. It's much less of a climb than you'd think, is great all around. View from the top is a comforting one, nice to see the cityscape. One interesting thing is how it's occupied mainly by maids, foreign workers, and tourists. As an aside, Chinese tourists and their themed outfits are kinda fun! Maybe we should look into that. Under-utilized by Singaporeans - thats your tax dollars at work you know, might as well use it.”

The kids really enjoyed the swings and slides, and the playground was well designed for young children. There was also a wash basin nearby, making it easy to clean up after playing. The facilities were convenient and family-friendly. The location is very close to Fort Canning MRT stop. The park itself is spacious, green, and well maintained, offering a nice escape from the city. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to explore all areas of the park, so we definitely plan to return on our next visit to Singapore. Overall, Fort Canning Park is a wonderful destination for families with children who want to enjoy outdoor play, nature, and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended for a few hours of family fun”
