The short answer
Take the MRT to Esplanade MRT Station and walk about 5 minutes. Thirty minutes is enough. Esplanade MRT (Circle Line) and City Hall (North–South / East–West) both connect by sheltered walkway; from Marina Bay hotels, the waterfront promenade walk takes 10–15 minutes. Latecomers are held until a suitable break for classical performances.
